Does changing to 300 DPI improve image quality?

No. DPI metadata describes print density, not extra detail. This converter keeps the decoded image's pixel dimensions and does not upscale or sharpen it. A 3000 × 2400 image prints at 10 × 8 inches at 300 DPI.

What file do I download?

A PNG with a pHYs density chunk set to 11811 pixels per metre, approximately 300 DPI. JPG, PNG and WebP inputs are decoded locally and exported as PNG; original EXIF and other metadata are not retained.

Will every printer read the DPI setting?

Not necessarily. Some print services use the pixel dimensions and the size you select rather than embedded density. Confirm final size, bleed and colour profile with your printer; this is not CMYK conversion or print certification.

Are my photos uploaded or billed?

No. Conversion runs locally, without signup or AI credits. JPG, PNG and WebP images are supported up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels.
